The second "Winter Edition"!
On 28 November, around 65 top Austrian winemakers will once again present their wines as part of "Wine in the City – Winter Edition" powered by Wiener Neustadt Sparkasse!
In November of last year, "Wine in the City – Winter Edition" took place for the first time in the baroque Sparkasse hall in Wiener Neustadt. A total of 65 winemakers from five federal states presented their products to around 700 visitors. A successful premiere that absolutely called for a sequel. And so Martin Reinelt and Wolfgang Stockmayer, operators of "Vino Neustadt" on the main square, are inviting everyone for the second time to this major tasting in one of the most beautiful event halls in the country.
Once again, around 65 top winemakers such as Krutzler, Sabathi, FJ Gritsch, Umathum, Weinrieder, Igler, Aumann and others will be taking part, presenting over 700 wines in total. Martin Reinelt: "We're expecting significantly more visitors this year, as the response last year was fantastic. You have to search far and wide in our region for a wine fair at this level."
A top event requires top partners
This year, Wiener Neustadt Sparkasse has been won as platinum sponsor of the event, and the specialists from WEIN & CO are back on board as an experienced partner. In addition to local businesses, Römerquelle is also active as one of the main sponsors, as is the Association of Thermenregion Winemakers, which this time will also present all the winning wines of the Thermenregion DAC Trophy.
Framework programme
In principle, all wines presented can be tasted from 3-9 pm. For true wine enthusiasts, there will also be four in-depth masteclasses on special topics (including sparkling wines, Italy and Thermenregion) with separate tastings and led by experienced wine experts. These will be held in small groups (max. 15 participants) and must be booked in advance (www.winteredition.at/masterclass).

A very special treat awaits this year as part of the culinary accompaniment: Box seats will be offered on the gallery on the 2nd floor, where some of the best restaurants in the region such as the 3-Michelin-star restaurant Görg, Mädchen & Wolf, Ristorante Luigi, Hilton Garden Inn and, as a vegan contribution, Papas Kitchen will provide catering – all at a unique flat rate. Wolfgang Stockmayer: "In this setting, in addition to the finest wines, we can also present some of the best restaurants in the region, which of course makes us particularly proud." Interested parties can book tables directly at Vino Neustadt.
But the culinary side is well taken care of in other ways too. With the tried-and-tested Viennese sausage stand, the beer bar and various delicacies stations, no one will go hungry or thirsty.
A highlight will once again be the Big Bottle raffle, for which each of the 65 participating businesses provides a magnum bottle of wine and the proceeds go to the Wiener Neustadt social project "Holz mit Herz".
Ticket pre-sales
Early bird ticket sales at special prices start on Thursday, 10 September. All information can also be found at www.winteredition.at
Tickets for the event are available from Ö-Ticket ("Wine in the City Winteredition") or directly at Vino Neustadt on Wiener Neustadt's Marienmarkt or from Top Communications. Until 15 October, even with a discounted early bird offer.
Over the coming weeks, all participating winemakers will also be presented online. At the event itself, there will also be a separate and free app featuring all the wines presented and a special rating system.
For any further questions, Wolfgang Stockmayer is happy to help on 0664 9671511 or by email at wolfgang@stockmayer.at.
In this spirit, we look forward to a joint success of "Wine in the City – Winter Edition"
