Operator / legal notice

A word to all businesses

weinreport.at wants to make the wine community visible – winemakers, wine taverns and wine shops. We compile entries and logos with care, partly automatically. Mistakes can happen in the process.

If something is wrong, out of date or not shown the way you would like, there is no intent behind it. We only want the best for everyone who makes, serves and sells wine.

Being listed in the directories is free of charge. There is no financial interest whatsoever behind the entries and logos.

You can have your entry and/or your logo corrected or removed at any time – free of charge and without giving reasons. A short message to office@weinreport.at is enough and we will take care of it promptly.

Visiting the website

When you visit the website, the web server processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, page requested, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system. This data serves secure operation and troubleshooting and is stored briefly in log files (legal basis: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The website is hosted by: Keyweb, DE, Erfurt.

Visitor statistics

To see which pages are read, we count page views on our own server, without cookies and without external services. We store the time, the page viewed, the referring page, browser, operating system, device type, language, the country derived from the IP address, and the IP address itself.

The full IP address is shortened after 30 days at the latest (e.g. 84.115.23.0) and can then no longer be linked to a person; entries are deleted after 90 days at the latest. The country is determined on our server with a country database (DB-IP); the IP address is not passed on for this. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving the website and operating it securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies

This website only uses cookies that are necessary for it to work or that store your settings. There are no advertising or analytics cookies and no tracking across other websites.

CookiePurposeDuration
wr_consentYour choice in the cookie notice (all content or necessary only)1 year
wr_langchosen language (German/English)1 year
wr_themelight or dark mode1 year
wr_scalechosen font size1 year
wr_viewlist display (tiles, list, lines)1 year
wr_merkliste, wr_verlaufnot a cookie but storage in your browser (localStorage): your saved list and recently viewed entries. This data only leaves your browser when you download the saved list as a PDF or send it by e-mail.until you delete it
ci_sessionsession: shopping cart, protection of forms against abuse, sign-in to the editorial areauntil the browser is closed, at most 2 hours without activity

Content from other websites

We embed some photos of wineries, taverns, wine shops and organisers directly from their websites if they have agreed. Your browser then loads such an image from that business’s server, which learns your IP address. This only happens if you chose “All content” in the cookie notice (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); otherwise you see an illustration.

The map in the directory comes from OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation, Cambridge, United Kingdom). Map images are only loaded when you click “Map”; your IP address is then transmitted to OpenStreetMap’s servers.

The form “New entry” for businesses is protected against spam by Google reCAPTCHA v3 (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). When this form is opened, data such as IP address, browser details and behaviour on the page are sent to Google, including to the USA; Google sets its own cookies for this. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protection against automated entries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). The same applies when you send your saved list by e-mail: reCAPTCHA is only loaded once you click “Send by e-mail” there. We use the e-mail address you enter only for this one message and do not store it. reCAPTCHA is not loaded on any other page.

On the page “Near me” your browser asks whether it may share your location. If you agree, the location, rounded to about 100 metres, is sent once to our server to find businesses nearby; it is not stored. If you enter a town instead, its name is sent to the OpenStreetMap service Nominatim to determine the position. The map on this page loads map images from OpenStreetMap as soon as the search starts.

You can change your choice at any time via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page.

Sign-up and monthly magazine

For the sign-up we store your e-mail address, the interests you chose and the language. The sign-up only takes effect when you click the link in the confirmation e-mail. As proof of your consent we store the time of confirmation and the IP address (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every message. After that we no longer use the address.

Enquiries

If you write to us via the enquiry form or by e-mail, we process your name, e-mail address and message in order to answer (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). The data is deleted once the enquiry is dealt with and no retention obligations apply.

Business listings

In the directory and the events calendar we publish business contact details of wineries, taverns, wine shops and organisers as they appear publicly on their own websites (legitimate interest in information about wine, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Businesses can object to publication or request a correction at any time: office@weinreport.at.

If we ask a business by e-mail whether we may use photos and details from its website, we store the answer with time and IP address as proof.

Shop

For an order we process name, address, e-mail address, telephone number and the items ordered to carry out the purchase (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We pass the order on to the respective seller (winery or wine shop), which delivers.

Payments for items from our own stock are handled by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Dublin, Ireland). You enter payment details directly with Stripe; we do not receive them. We keep invoice data for seven years (§ 132 BAO).

Automatically researched content

Some of the events, directory entries and short articles are compiled from publicly available sources with the help of an AI service (Claude by Anthropic) and checked editorially. No visitor data is transmitted in the process.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Please contact office@weinreport.at.

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority: Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, www.dsb.gv.at.

Terms and conditions

These terms apply to the use of weinreport.at and to orders in the shop. In case of doubt the German version applies.

1. Operator and scope

The website is operated by Ing. Philipp Caha, Ferdinand-Platzer-Gasse 3/2/24, 1210 Wien, Österreich, e-mail: office@weinreport.at.

The terms apply in the version published on this page at the time of the order. Differing terms of customers do not apply.

2. Editorial content, events and directories

Features, news, events, broadcast times and the entries for wineries, wine taverns and wine shops are compiled with care, partly with the help of AI and after editorial review. We give no guarantee that they are correct, complete and up to date. Please check dates, opening hours and prices with the business or organiser before a visit.

The operators of linked third-party websites are responsible for their content.

3. Shop: role of weinreport.at and contracting party

weinreport.at is a marketplace. The seller of the goods is the business (winery or wine shop) named with the product and at checkout. The purchase contract is concluded between you and that business; weinreport.at passes on the order and is not the seller.

If the cart holds products of several businesses, the order is split into several orders. Each of them is a separate contract with the respective business, with its own payment and shipping details.

4. Ordering and conclusion of contract

The presentation of products is not a binding offer. By clicking the button that places an order with obligation to pay, you make a binding offer. You can check and change all details before sending.

You receive an e-mail confirming receipt of the order. The contract is concluded when the business confirms the order or ships the goods. The contract language is German. The contract text is stored and sent to you by e-mail with the confirmation.

5. Protection of minors

Alcoholic drinks are supplied only to persons who have reached the legal minimum age (wine, beer and sparkling wine from 16, spirits from 18). By ordering you confirm that you have reached this age. The business or the carrier may ask for proof of age on delivery.

6. Prices and shipping costs

All prices are final prices in euros including statutory VAT. Shipping and handling costs are shown per order in the cart and at checkout before the order is sent.

For deliveries to countries outside the European Union, customs duties and charges may apply, which you bear yourself.

7. Payment

The available payment methods are shown per order at checkout. Card and other online payments are processed by the payment provider Stripe, whose terms apply in addition. For payment by invoice or bank transfer the business states the account details in the order confirmation.

8. Delivery

The respective business delivers to the given address in the countries selectable at checkout. The delivery time is stated with the product or in the order confirmation; if none is stated it is 30 days at most.

If a product is no longer available, the business informs you without delay; payments already made are refunded.

9. Right of withdrawal

Consumers have a statutory right of withdrawal. Details are given in the withdrawal information on this page.

10. Warranty and transport damage

The statutory warranty provisions apply; your contact is the business you bought from. Tartrate crystals and sediment are natural and not a defect.

Please report damaged deliveries to the carrier and the business as soon as possible. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

11. Liability

weinreport.at is liable for its own fault in cases of intent and gross negligence; for personal injury also in cases of slight negligence. The respective businesses are responsible for fulfilling the purchase contracts and for the information they give about their products.

12. Dispute resolution, law and jurisdiction

We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. If there is a problem, please write to us: office@weinreport.at.

Austrian law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers this applies only as far as mandatory provisions of the state of their habitual residence are not restricted. For consumers the statutory places of jurisdiction apply; for businesses the competent court in Vienna has jurisdiction.

As of October 2026

Withdrawal information

Applies to consumers ordering in the shop. The withdrawal is to be addressed to the business you bought from; its name and address are in the order confirmation.

Right of withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day on which you, or a third party named by you who is not the carrier, took possession of the goods (of the last goods in case of partial deliveries).

To exercise the right of withdrawal you must inform the seller (the business named in the order confirmation) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by a clear statement, for example by letter or e-mail. You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory. You may also send the withdrawal to office@weinreport.at; we forward it to the business.

To meet the deadline it is sufficient to send the notice before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, the seller must reimburse all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for additional costs arising from your choice of a type of delivery other than the cheapest standard delivery offered), without undue delay and at the latest within fourteen days from the day on which the notice of withdrawal was received. The same means of payment as in the original transaction is used for the refund unless expressly agreed otherwise; you will not be charged any fees for the refund.

The seller may withhold the refund until the goods have been received back or until you have supplied evidence of having sent them back, whichever is earlier.

You must send back or hand over the goods without undue delay and in any event within fourteen days from the day on which you inform the seller of the withdrawal. The deadline is met if you send the goods before the period has expired. You bear the direct cost of returning the goods.

You are liable for any loss in value of the goods only if it results from handling other than what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.

Exceptions

Among others, there is no right of withdrawal for goods made to your specifications (for example bottles with a personal label), for goods that can spoil quickly, and for alcoholic drinks whose price was agreed when the contract was concluded but which can be delivered after 30 days at the earliest and whose value depends on market fluctuations (for example wines sold en primeur).

Model withdrawal form

If you want to withdraw from the contract, please complete this form and send it to the business named in the order confirmation:

I/We hereby withdraw from the contract concluded by me/us for the purchase of the following goods: ……………

Order number: …………… – ordered on: …………… – received on: ……………

Name and address: ……………

Date and signature (only if sent on paper): ……………

Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use weinreport.at. The website follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, and the standard EN 301 549; the basis is the Austrian Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz, BaFG).

Compliance status

The website is partially compliant with these requirements. The assessment is based on our own review (self-assessment) of October 2026.

What we have done

The site can be used entirely with the keyboard; a skip link leads straight to the content. Font size and light or dark mode can be set in the header, the site adapts to small screens and works at 200 % zoom.

Headings, lists, tables and forms are marked up for screen readers, and form errors are stated at the field. The banner does not rotate when reduced motion is set in the system.

Content that is not accessible

Photos embedded from the websites of businesses do not always have a meaningful text alternative.

The OpenStreetMap map can be operated with the keyboard only to a limited extent. All entries on the map are also in the list below it.

The automatic rotation of the banner has no separate pause button.

Videos in the banner have no captions and no audio description; they are purely decorative and carry no information.

Texts written or translated with AI are not available in easy-to-read language.

Feedback and contact

Have you met a barrier, or do you need content in another form? Write to us: office@weinreport.at. We usually reply within two weeks.

Enforcement

If the reply is not satisfactory you can contact the Sozialministeriumservice, the market surveillance authority under the Accessibility Act (sozialministeriumservice.gv.at). In cases of discrimination because of a disability, the conciliation procedure under the Federal Disability Equality Act is also available.

This statement was prepared in October 2026.
